An epic landslide has devastated Tarasin village in Sudan’s remote Marrah Mountains located in Darfur region and caused over 1,000 deaths on August 31, 2025. This tragedy was precipitated by several days of heavy rainfall that resulted in collapsed mountain sides, burying entire communities.
